Russia
has once again urged diplomats and foreign nationals to leave Kyiv, warning of
new large-scale attacks on the Ukrainian capital. According to a statement from
the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow has continued a barrage of drones and
missiles against Ukraine during its military operations, while attacks on Kyiv
have intensified in recent weeks, targeting critical infrastructure.
In
a statement issued on Saturday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said foreign
nationals and diplomats in Kyiv had previously been advised to leave the city
and avoid traveling to Ukraine. The ministry said it was concerned that not
everyone had heeded the warnings and that some individuals were deliberately
exposing themselves to potentially fatal risks. The statement added that
Russian armed forces would continue carrying out large-scale retaliatory
strikes. The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that individuals who ignored the
warning would bear full responsibility for any possible adverse consequences.
Meanwhile,
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Friday that the city must now be prepared
for wartime conditions, accusing Russia of trying to destroy Kyiv by targeting
bridges and energy infrastructure. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of violating the principles governing
armed conflicts by allowing large-scale attacks on civilian areas. The Kremlin,
however, has rejected the accusation.
