Protests under the banner of “No Kings” have
begun across the United States against President Donald Trump, with
demonstrations and rallies taking place nationwide. The protests were called
for by U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. Demonstrations against President Trump and
his policies have been held in several American cities, drawing large crowds
who chanted slogans opposing the president. According to a report by an
American television network, protesters took to the streets in major cities,
including Los Angeles and Dallas, on Sunday, October 18.
The demonstrations aimed not only to oppose
President Trump’s policies but also to encourage citizens to vote early in the
upcoming elections. The events were organized by the “No Kings” group, which
planned to hold more than 3,000 events nationwide under the theme “No Kings:
Vote Early.” Organizers describe the events as nonpartisan and politically
neutral, although opposition to the Trump administration’s policies has been a
prominent feature of the demonstrations.
Senator Bernie Sanders Says Trump Lied to the
American People
Speaking at a “No Kings” rally in Minnesota,
Senator Bernie Sanders said the American people were being lied to about the
war against Iran and called for an immediate end to the conflict. Sanders said
Trump had promised during his election campaign that he would not waste money
on wars, but had broken that promise by spending money on the war with Iran. He
described the conflict as unconstitutional and said Trump had not obtained
congressional authorization for it.
Protest activities under the “No Kings” banner were
also held again in Louisville, Kentucky. A day earlier, on Saturday, October
17, demonstrators gathered along Frankfort Avenue in the St. Matthews area to
protest against President Trump. During the demonstration, members of groups
known as “Kentuckiana Rising Grannies” and “Grumpy Grampies” sang songs to
express their opposition to Trump’s policies. Protesters stood along the
roadside, chanting slogans and voicing their concerns.
Trump Supporter Makes a Sudden Appearance
An unusual moment occurred when a Trump supporter
carrying a “Trump 2028” flag walked through the crowd of demonstrators. While
anti-Trump protesters were gathered along Frankfort Avenue, the supporter
passed through the area holding the flag. As part of the “No Kings” campaign,
organizers are urging citizens to participate actively in the electoral process
and vote early wherever possible. Recent demonstrations in cities across the
United States have once again highlighted the political and public opposition
to the Trump administration’s policies.
