Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s childhood home has been sold. The historic property in New York City was sold for $1.93 million. According to foreign media reports, the once-dilapidated house, which had become a shelter for stray cats, has been transformed into a highly modern and luxurious home following extensive renovations. President Donald Trump spent the first four years of his life in the Tudor-style Queens estate.
According to the report, the house was built in 1940 by his father and prominent developer, Fred Trump, although it had not remained in the family for a long time. During its period of neglect, the condition of the property deteriorated so badly that burst pipes caused water leaks inside the house. The historic property was purchased last year, in 2025, by a developer named Tommy Lin for $835,000. The five-bedroom, three-bathroom house underwent eight months of renovations, during which Lin reportedly spent approximately Rs. 4.78 core. Following the renovation, the property was fitted with a modern chef’s kitchen, herringbone wood flooring, and luxury spa-like bathrooms. Full details of the renovated property were released on a real estate website on Friday.
The property has changed hands several times throughout its history. After Donald Trump became president of the United States in 2017, he himself purchased the house for approximately $2.14 million. At the time, the buyer was a company called Trump Birth Home LLC, and the property was also rented out on Earbob for a period. During that time, the house featured a life-size cardboard cutout of President Trump, a copy of his famous book “The Art of the Deal,” and a framed cover of People magazine featuring Trump. The property was later listed for sale in 2019 for $2.9 million, but the sale did not go through at the time.
Now 79 years old, Donald Trump, who built his wealth through the real estate business, developed the famous Trump Tower in Manhattan and lived there for decades before turning his fame and fortune toward the world of politics. As president, he has also personally overseen renovations and decorative projects at the White House, where he has had a large ballroom constructed and the Oval Office adorned with gold-plated fixtures—features that reflect his long-standing association with luxury and an extravagant lifestyle.
