Trump Holds Phone Conversation with Japanese Prime Minister

U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. According to Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the conversation lasted approximately 20 minutes. President Trump briefed Prime Minister Takaichi on details of his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders discussed economic and security issues related to China and agreed to continue close cooperation.  According to the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office, the conversation covered various issues concerning China, economic matters, particularly economic security, and regional security. The two leaders also agreed to maintain close cooperation between Japan and the United States.  They expressed their commitment to further strengthening Japan-U.S. cooperation and working together to promote peace and stability in the region and around the world.
