London: The British government
has issued a new travel advisory and warning for 16 countries, including the
United Arab Emirates and Türkiye, amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The UK government has updated its travel advice for these 16 countries, urging
British nationals to follow the guidance closely. The latest warning highlights
the possibility of travel disruption resulting from ongoing conflicts in the
Middle East. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has shared
updated advice for countries across the region.
In an official statement, the government said
that the situation in the Middle East remained unpredictable, with the risk of
a sudden escalation. The conflict began in early 2026, and Iran has indicated
its intention to target locations linked to the United States and Israel,
including organizations, businesses, facilities and institutions. Iran has
carried out attacks and retaliatory strikes across the region, targeting
civilian and US military infrastructure. In view of the current situation,
British nationals planning to travel to or enter the Middle East should be
prepared for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and other travel
disruptions. The 16 countries covered by the advisory are Oman, Qatar, the
United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Türkiye, Kuwait, Jordan,
Iraq, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Palestine and Saudi Arabia.
