An important and secret military meeting was held in Germany under the auspices of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), attended by the chiefs of the armed forces of Arab countries as well as the United States and Israel.
Berlin: An important and secret military meeting was held in Germany under the auspices of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), attended by the chiefs of the armed forces of Arab countries as well as the United States and Israel. According to international sources and U.S. defense officials, the primary purpose of the meeting was to develop a strategy to address regional security challenges, particularly the increasing attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels and the threats emerging along maritime routes. According to newspaper and defense sources, the meeting was attended by the chiefs of staff of the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt.
A major focus of the meeting was the Houthi group’s attacks on commercial shipping in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea, as well as overall regional security. Participants considered proposals to strengthen intelligence sharing and air and maritime defense cooperation to prevent Houthi attacks. CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper assured the allies that the United States would not withdraw its forces from the region and would ensure the safety of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.
