Sources say Prime Minister Shehbaz
Sharif will visit New York this month and address the United Nations General
Assembly on September 25. According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
will arrive in New York on September 20 to represent Pakistan at the annual
session of the UN General Assembly. During his address, he is expected to
highlight key global issues and Pakistan’s stance on important international
matters.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign
Minister Ishaq Dar will accompany the prime minister during his visit to the
United States. Information Minister Atta Tarar and other senior officials will
also be part of the Pakistani delegation.
Sources say Prime Minister Shehbaz
Sharif is also expected to attend a reception hosted by US President Donald
Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.
Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar is expected to
hold several meetings with foreign ministers from different countries during
his stay in New York. The meetings will focus on Pakistan’s bilateral
relations, the regional situation and other issues of mutual interest.
Ishaq Dar is also expected to
discuss various regional and global issues and present Pakistan’s position
during his meetings with his counterparts. Sources said the visit of Prime
Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation will be an important part of
Pakistan’s diplomatic engagements on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly
session.
