Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the understanding between the United States and Iran and to intensify diplomatic efforts to prevent the ongoing tensions in the region from escalating further. According to a report by a private television channel, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss the regional situation. The two sides reviewed the overall situation in the Middle East, growing tensions, and ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the region. According to the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two foreign ministers agreed to maintain close contact and regular consultations on matters related to regional security. They also stressed the importance of diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent any potential conflict from spreading further. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty also invited Ishaq Dar to visit Egypt soon, describing the invitation as part of efforts to further strengthen high-level contacts between the two countries. Separately, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. They discussed various issues of mutual interest, including significant developments at the regional and global levels. According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the two foreign ministers also consulted on matters of mutual interest at multilateral forums. They reviewed the understanding reached at the meeting of the Strategic, Political and Defence Committee under the Makkah Defence Agreement. During the conversation, progress on the implementation of the understanding reached at the Istanbul meeting was also discussed, with both sides reviewing their respective efforts in this regard. The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also agreed to remain in close contact and maintain regular consultations on regional and global issues. Pakistan’s simultaneous high-level diplomatic contacts with Egypt and Saudi Arabia come at a time when the regional situation is rapidly evolving, while various countries continue diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading further.
