Three alarming predictions about the future of
the world made by John Hogue, an author who calls himself “America’s
Nostradamus,” have attracted international media attention. Hogue has spent the
past four decades studying the writings of the renowned 16th-century French
astrologer Nostradamus. He combines ancient texts, astrology, and current
global political developments to make predictions about the future. According
to a report by a British website, Hogue’s three major predictions are as
follows.
1. America Could Lose Its Status as a Global
Superpower by 2028
John Hogue has claimed that the United States
could lose its status as a global superpower by September 11, 2028, which will
mark the 27th anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the United States. He
has warned that the period from September 2026 to September 2028 could prove
extremely critical for the United States and represent a major turning point.
According to Hogue, factors such as rising national debt, inflation, potential
fuel shortages, internal political divisions, and the leadership of President Donald
Trump could significantly weaken America’s global influence. However, experts
say these claims do not establish that the U.S. economy will actually decline
by that date.
2. Possible Nuclear Attack on Iran and the
Threat of a Major War
John Hogue’s second prediction concerns a
potential nuclear confrontation between the United States and Iran. He claims
that an attack on Iran’s underground nuclear facilities could trigger a major
retaliatory response across the region. He has warned that Iran could retaliate
by targeting American naval vessels with missiles, while North Korean drones
could also pose a threat to the U.S. Navy in the Arabian Sea. Additionally,
escalating tensions between Russia and European countries, along with direct
European intervention in the Ukraine war, could gradually lead to the use of
nuclear weapons.
3. A Third World War That Could Last 27 Years
John Hogue’s third and most extraordinary
prediction concerns a prolonged global war that, he claims, could last as long
as 27 years. According to Hogue, such a prolonged conflict could severely
disrupt the oil, natural gas, and helium industries in West Asia, placing
enormous pressure on global energy supplies, food systems, and water resources.
Hogue says his intention is not to frighten people but to highlight the
importance of peace by warning them about the potentially devastating
consequences of war and violence. Meanwhile, experts point out that people have
interpreted and translated the writings of Nostradamus in different ways for
centuries, and there is considerable disagreement over how his ambiguous verses
should be connected to subsequent events. According to historians and
scientists, astrology and ancient prophecies cannot provide scientifically
reliable dates for specific wars, economic disasters, or the decline of global
powers.
