Turkey has also introduced a ban on social media use by children under the
age of 15. According to international media reports, Turkey has approved
legislation prohibiting children under 15 from using social media. News agencies have reported that the Turkish parliament passed the law in
April this year to protect children from harmful online content. The
legislation is scheduled to come into effect on November 1. According to local media reports, the law requires social media platforms to
implement technical and administrative safeguards, including age-verification
measures for users. It is also worth noting that, under the new legislation, online platforms
and services that could lead to addictive behavior among children will be
prohibited.
